Seven people, including six tourists and a pilot, have died after a helicopter crashed near Mount Ololokwe in Samburu County on Wednesday morning.
The tragic accident occurred at approximately 9:13 a.m. in a remote area near the popular tourist attraction, according to information from authorities and reports on the incident. (Reuters)
The aircraft was reportedly travelling from the Loisaba area towards the Ewaso Nyiro area when it crashed.
The accident happened in rugged terrain, complicating the emergency response and recovery operation.
The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that an aircraft accident had occurred in the area, while investigations were launched to establish what caused the helicopter to crash.
Luxury safari operator &Beyond also confirmed that the helicopter was carrying some of its guests. The company expressed its concern following the accident as authorities began responding to the tragedy. (Reuters)

Emergency teams were deployed to the crash site following reports of the accident.
The remote location around Mount Ololokwe presented challenges for responders attempting to reach the site.
